Hk Mr223

If you want cheap, there's plenty of other options out there.

Meh - just another gas piston AR and far too expensive for what it is. Current exchange rate of 2800 eros puts it right at $4,312.6763 Canadian!!!WTF!!!! You pay another two grand just for these two letters....HK. These guys are nuts - I'd rather have a tavor or three Norc Type 97's!!!LOL

have you shot the HK systems?

Um no...but I saw it on Future Weapons:D...and for $4300 probably ain't never gonna shoot one. I notice from your pic that you don't yet use one...have you shot one? And if so do you intend to purchase one for $2800 Euros?

Edit: Crap, just saw your new post, you have extensive experience with one..is it worth the cash?

European prices mean nothing - look at what regular AR's sell for over there.

Quoted for the truth.

It'll likely retail for between 1500 and 2000$ US.

And no I havent shot it, but it seems to be slightly more accurate, more dependable and needs alot less cleaning than a DI AR does, so if it was a tool of the trade for me, I'd want it over a DI AR. Is it more lethal, probably not, but me spending half the time cleaning it DOES count.

Whatever. I don't use one for a living, so that little gem is worth what you paid for.

I'd buy one. Of course this is Canada and everything semi-auto seems to sell for the predictable price of $3,000. I wonder if there is any marketing magic involved with this figure, like a lucky number or something.

Yes, regardless, I'd buy one (but I'd still rather have a G-36. When shot on auto they just stay on target unlike the AR's that quickly race upwards to the right).

Yeah I don't get why people complain about a 9 lb gun that'll just end up being shot from the bench or used prone.

Are you that out of shape that you complain about carrying a heavier gun from the back of your trunk to the firing line?

Back on topic, what is the difference between this and a HK 416?

You know I'm beginning to hate HK.. to me they are becoming like sony. Vastly overpriced for what you get. I find that there is always a better perfoming and cheaper alternative to every one of their products.

Ok, except sub guns, but it doesn't matter because you can only get a butchered one, since us civilians arn't good enough for one that actually looks decent. And don't give me the "german law" crap. Arms companies have moved because of it's own countires laws, and HK has no excuse. They'd be nothing without their name. The SAS should have used Sten guns when they stormed the embassy.

Its got to do with small market and greed.

If the Hk416 can go for $1178 for mil for upper - and $1780 for a complete gun -- riddle me this how the identical thing (okay w/o the select fire package) can go for more than DOUBLE?

So if its lower won't fit an AR upper (someone said the takedown pin location was changed?), and the gas system is completely different, could this be non restricted?

That would increase its value in my eyes.....

Good point, if an AR upper can't fit that would suggest it isn't an AR15. Although, I seriously doubt the RCMP would rule like this. They'd probably use the tried and true, "well it LOOKS like an AR" line.
