Reliable and flexible – the new Heckler & Koch MR 223...

The ONLY problem with the Pmags, as per K's pictures, is, they will not fit in an HK 416 lower.

I dunno what HK did with their mag well (obviously narrowed them) but the Pmags don't go in. The Pmags fit every other lower I can find, just not the HK.

I don't find the Pmags much different in weight than the usual aluminium mags.

I know this ain't a Pmag thread, but I am doing a segway.

current estimated cost...about $5K, before the dollar sank P&D quoted me about $3800. Factor in the funny nub on the barrel and if it really does have proprietary pin locations to prevent compatibility with standard 416 or AR-15 parts just kills its appeal to me.

I'm so happy I got the last LMT CQB/MRP piston gun. Only cost $3K, has all the evil features you would want and compatible with most standard AR15 stuff. Sure the barrel is LMT specific but I just ordered a spare and Questar can get more if you need it. Sure it doesn't say HK but I can live with that.

Funny nub is a thread protector.

Hk did a redesign on new 416's so they can accomdate the PMAG - the mag well was not STANAG dimensioned - they cut the front lip of the magwell higher (the offending part). One would guess some units with influence liked both Hk416's and PMAG's...

If the 308 comes in non-restricted it will be slightly interesting. But really otherwise I think this rifle will be a flop except with HK nuts.

hmmm... when was the redesign? i just tried a PMAG in a recently 'purchased' 416 and it doesn't fit. the previous 416 was full auto (PMAG didn't fit as well), but this one is semi-auto only. i guess the lower receiver is the older design. the mag will go in, but not lock into place.
