For the record, I took my freshly converted SL8 to the range on Saturday. The only work I did was to replace the auto hammer in the G36 lower with the hammer from the SL8 lower, and remove the hammer catch, since the SL8 doesn't have the lip on the bolt carrier to reset it.
Shot about 50 rounds, and everything worked beautifully. Loaded in a fresh magazine, and nothing....cocking the rifle wouldn't reset the hammer.
Took it home and gave it a visual inspection, everything seemed in order, it just wouldn't catch the hammer. I put the old SL8 lower (with the G36 auto hammer) back on, and it cocked perfectly every time. I ended up switching out the SL8 lower guts into the G36 lower, with the exception of the long bit on the back of the safety, which would require drilling an extra hole, and everything seems to be working perfectly.
Also, I heard back from IEA:
IEA said:
the muzzle brake is 109,-EUR
the folding stock is 530,-EUR
+ ship/ins. 75,-EUR
That was their response to my question of whether they'd ship to Canada, so I can only assume that they're giving it the go-ahead. I'm going to try to order the muzzle brake from them this week and see how it goes.
