The NEA magwell is definitely not a "no gunsmithing" deal. Yes, the magwell itself simply replaces the original magwell. But to get the AR mags to work, you have to mill out some small tabs on the inside of the receiver to allow the mags to seat. The NEA magwell is a drop-in replacement. Pull the retaining pin on the original magwell, remove magwell, use retaining pin to retain new magwell. Done.
At least, if the parts fit right that's how it goes. Mine needed some file work to get it to go on.
Most people from what I understand don't have problems.
The conversion involves gunsmithing, or as some folks refer to it, a "hack", so I hope no one orders the magwell, thinking they can simply swap out the part and they're good to go.
I'm going to do it, because the HK mags are obscenely priced (at least $75, IIRC) , and I don't want a 30 round mag sticking out the bottom. If someone sold a 5/10 or 5/20 round may at a reasonable price, the conversion wouldn't be important to me.
