Hi, as I always wanted one (actually I'm talking about a USC converted to UMP), can any one give me a rought estimate on the price tag? I don't want to buy now as I just bought for 6k of guns and stuff in the past month or so, but I want to see the future options for a SMG other than the APC9 and prepare for it as this is next step. Thanks

It would probably be the best bet to buy one on HKpro (as mentioned) or gunbroker, then get it imported with a third party like IrunGuns or Prophet River. (just make sure the one you're getting has a UMP45 barrel, NOT a USC barrel cut down. Even if it's legal in the states, it's not up here)

For a fairly vanilla USC/UMP conversion hbean is correct at about 4 grand.

Check out HKparts.net and price out the parts you want. I had an (almost) all HK USC-UMP45 conversion (except stock Block) I had over 5k invested in mine with 19" barrel, rails and a couple mags. So depending on the parts chosen (factory HK or American the price will fluctuate a bit. The CSC has a non restricted USC45 for sale right now. Would be a good start.

I sold my conversion 4-5 yrs ago for 3500.
If I did it again I would stay away from the hera stock and do the proper full conversation with hk parts.

5k will get you the HK USC and all HK parts except stock Block (because HK does not make one). It would get you:
2 position FBI UPM lower
HK folding stock
Stock Block
Stock Block pin
3 front short rails
Top rail
8" barrel + new barrel pin.
UMP Mags 3+/- depending on important fees or if you grey market the parts. Then you need to get the USC mag well widened, the hooks enlarged on UMP lower and the usc trigger installed in the UMP lower. And if you choose the vents milled in the hand guard.

The one in my safe is a USC with an HK UMP Barrel, Hera grip and ACR folding stock, 2 extra mags. In the end taxes and shipping I'm in for $4900. Although the Hera and ACR route is not authentic UMP, the Hera and ACR does deliver adjustable length of pull which a UMP stock will not. The lower being still set up for single stack UMP mags is to me a benefit. The longer larger UMP mags make prone or bench shooting a pain and the smaller 5/10 USC mags seem just right (my wifes gun and she usually shoots off a bench due to her poor health). Both have to be pinned to 5 anyway so we stuck with it. Had a B&T flash hider on it but that fell apart so don't bother.

All for the pleasure of yelling Yippee ki-yay, motherphucker and slapping that handle down.

I was considering the Hera stock. What didn't you like about it?

Was pretty decent except for the actual latch button.
Was plastic and broke on me. To get a replacement was 6 months of back and forth over the phone and emails.
In the end I ended up getting it plastic welded.
So customer service and a very weak link in an otherwise nice stock.
It was one of the earlier models so things might have changed... but my experience was less than happy.

Thank you for the first hand feedback. I was afraid they may be delicate.

When buying a UMP lower, do you buy it stripped and then put the USC parts in?

Yes, you use the USC45 trigger parts. Although I don't know if you can get a hold of a stripped lower, I've only ever seen complete lowers. There are a couple parts you don't need to remove; mag release lever is different, so that stays on the UMP lower, and you can keep the bolt release in place as well.
