I just received my HK USC from Wolverine Supplies. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but I was very impressed with the aesthetics and ergonomics of the gun, right out of the box. The gun is smaller than I expected, as most pictures don't give much size perspective. It is actually a fairly compact rifle, and is light and manageable. The pistol grip is quite fat, and is a little larger than I expected. Too bad the skeletonized butt gets in the way of forming an absolutely perfect grip. I was glad to see that the safety does not impede the grip at all, which actually is a problem with the SL8 in my opinion (when the safety is switched to fire on an SL8, the bottom of the lever always seemed to poke right into the top of my trigger hand). Fit and finish seem to be excellent; the gun has a solid and tight feel overall, which I guess one would expect from an HK. The colour is a much darker grey than I was expecting. It always looks so light coloured in pictures, but mine is a dark grey with a slight olive tinge to it. In any case, I think the gun looks very cool. I didn't realize so few of these had been produced. Mine is a 2005 production, and the serial number is only in the 6000's. I am looking forward to getting this one out to the range. In the meantime here is a pic:

is it restricted? For some reason Wolverine site does not put them in their offerings, I could only find them in their price list. No other info on that rifle. Was it off the shelf or was it special order? What cartridge is that thing chambered for?

I would think you have had a chnce to shoot it by now - how is it? Accuracy and ergonomics? And whether you tried original iron sights or not. Thanks in advance, UncleWalther

It is restricted, but only for barrel length. You can register it as non-restricted if you install a longer barrel.

The USC is chambered for .45ACP.

You can find a bit more information about it here:

The gray ones are now discontinued. HK is going to be making black ones now.

What was the cost of that conversion? Something like $200 for the barrel and $200 for the work?

That wouldn't be too bad at all. I was thinking, Canada isn't such big market but still - what would it take for production plant to run a little canadian edition with longer barrel?

According to the HK site, It has a 15.98 Inch barrel. You would think HK would add a couple more Milimeters...........
Maybe the next batch will have a slightly longer barrel?
Give it that Un-Res. status, It would be a great firearm to take up to the spread and plink away...

Cut the barrel down and fix that stock and then MAYBE die it black. Then and only then will you be Kool with a capital K!

for all those K-cool lovers I would say - short barrel isn't everything. Kapital K comes with full auto and that you ain't gonna get unless you are a Kool Guy. Join forces if you so desire, for us, little poor smucks longer barrel will do. I'd like to let that thing stay in my trunk legally and assasinate a few rats (good eating by the way).

If it was non restricted with that barrel length then I would say leave it because it would be an awesome combo, however, since its 15.98IN or whatever the BBL length is it needs to be cut down so it has a higher LCF, at least in my eyes anyways. Cutting it down and having the barrel stick out an inch or so past the hand guards would look boomin'

Same with the AR's IMO, since they are restricted by name go short or go home.

This all being said sweet gun UncleWalther
