HK45 is here!

To buy a gun from a company that really isn't all that "into" civillian shooters - I think not.

The fact is, they're making these pistols and certain rifles available for civilians, so I don't see the big beef everyone has with HK preferring companies and states/countries: they have more money to make from those contracts and, surprise, they're in the business of making money. :D

I know they're snobish, but you can't deny that USP and variants are quality products. If they make it available at a reasonable price, I'll grab one. Otherwise, there are other options. ;)

I actually quite like the looks of it. Also, for an HK pistol, it is in the typical price range. Except for a few USP variants, most HK pistols are $1400-$2000 and even beyond. But, if a person is going to shell out $1600 for a HK45, then they might as well pony up another few hundred and just get a Mark 23.

MK23 is going the way of the dinosaur.
Now, in all fairness to the retailers,....R.Nichols may be setting the price very high, and the retailers may not have choice but to sell at that amount....
but,...I hope the P30L comes in cheaper than that,...but ?????

If the P30L is that price, I will be going thru other importers to get one.

This gun was in fact designed for some kind of Special Forces try out in the US, that is why Larry Vickers and Ken Hackathorn were involved in the development. That being said, this is just another pimped out USP, nothing more.

The HK45 is nice, but not worth the $500+ premium over USP45 in my opinion. Seeing how in the U.S. the price difference between the two is only about $100-150, I think it's the Canadian importer who is smoking crack.

I handled several variants of the HK45 at the SHOT show a few weeks ago. It may look odd with the spidey grips but it is an ergonomic wonder. It feels fantastic in the hand, very similar to a SVI /STI 2011 grip.

That being said, I have seen retail prices as low as $860 US at various dealers stateside. Someone somewhere along the HK supply chain into Canada is giving everyone a good hard screwing. Even if the importer / distributer quantities are significantly smaller in the Canadian market there's no excuse for this kind of price gouging.

You are one hell of a kind man, this gun looks worst than s**t:D

From a Glock user's point of view, this gun at this price is a joke.

Trigun

That's an interesting comparison.
I'll admit I never gave it much thought.

When you think about how much gun you can get for $650-800, you'd be pretty surprised.

And then you toss in a few overpriced Germans and things get silly.

LOL,

glock - polymer frame , metal slide 590-700.00

HK - poymer frame, metal slide (HK mojo) 1580.00

it's things like this that remind me why I wont buy HK

Boltgun
That's like saying:

Hyundai Accent Hatchback: metal bodyunit, plastic bumper covers $13,500
BMW M6: metal bodyunit, plastic bumper covers $130,000

If you think that the cost of raw materials is responsible for anything more than a miniscule portion of the price of the final manufactured product, you need to realize that it's not the 1800's anymore.

I don't own HK, only shot it once.
Not really big fun of the very long pull trigger.
Can not understand the price on them.
For that money I can go STI or Tangfolio for target or
at least Kimber.
Someone is really smoking something heavy here :))
