HK45c vs HK USP 45c

The HK45 was developed primarily for the American market so HK GmBH sent all of the HK45 tooling to HK USA. HK USA is forbidden from exporting parts by it's parent company. The few that made it over here are either smuggled, imported individually, or got in before the tooling was sent to the US.

I bought mine from a Ellwood Epps in March of 2012. I think they had more than 15 in stock. They didn't last long. Mine has a BB date code and was made in the US.

Hi Everyone,

After calling around a hard decision just got harder. Looking for some opinions on what you would do? Keep in mind this is Canada and we get hosed on the prices.

1) HK USP 45ct with LEM - $1250
2) HK45c with threaded barrel - $1299
3) HK USP 45c with threaded barrel - $1100

Thanks T

If everyone really is serious, I'm game to get in on this but there are some questions that I'm sure everyone will want answered first:

1. Who is the dealer you've approached, what is their full contact information, how long have they been in business for and have they done something like this before?

2. What are the minimum #'s needed to make this deal worthwhile for all involved (ie. How many interested people would we need?)

3. What is the TOTAL cost breakdown including: purchase cost, taxes, import fees/duty and shipping to my door?

4. What is the shipping ETA once the deal has been made?

5. How do we secure our purchase to insure that we receive our order (ie. what is the deposit or is payment in full req.)

+1. Unless it's done with Prophet River (site sponsor) I don't think this will have legs. This initial deal was on an american forum, with not much data available. I won't be ponying up my $ unless I see something concrete, with a Canadian importer involved. I suggest you guys be cautious as well.

Well...I broke down and bought the USPc .45 from Wolverine. Probably be acouple weeks before I see it thanks to the BC CFO. It's not an HK45c but I can live with it (maybe...we'll see).

I am working on a group buy so for the price is very very good for the HK45 but trying to get better. I got the usp 45c like you for now and will sell it when I buy my hk45ct and hk45c. Go the USP45c from a store sponsor gave me an amazing deal.

I know this is a 3 year old thread but a little update is in order. Finally got an HK45ct (smokin' deal I might add...and in NATO green). When it arrived the wife promptly took it. She's a big fan of the P2000 and this feels like a .45 version of it. I still have the USPc and it's pretty much my go to gun in .45 (she's been trying to take it for the past couple years). They're very similar just slightly different ergo's in the HK45c (which she likes). They use the same mags which is a plus. Gotta admit I'm pretty much an HK fanboy now. Now if only HK would release a short barrel MR223 I'd be set.

If you haven't already done it... The 45c in Canada is basically a tactical already. They come with threaded barrels, and then the only difference is night sights and the elephant foot mags.
Irunguns has the mags for $37 USD and Amazon sells the meprolights for $116 Canadian.

Personally I traded for an OD LEM version on the EE and it's goddamn perfect.

And the difference between the 45c and the USP is improved ergonomics and slightly more modern updates, narrower profile, and generally better all around.

Don't be an idiot and fork out $2000 for a CT. I hate how dealers add an extra 25-40% for anything that says tactical on it. You can buy one like mine for $1100-1300, from the shooting centre or red deer shooting centre, then spend another 250 on the mags and sights, and you're rolling.

The stock sights are really really nice though with photoluminescent paint. Not great if it's pitch black and you need to use it in a hurry but man are they ever bright in daylight.

And I see you already updated! Lol I should read more before posting. Got excited!

There are a few more subtleties between the Canadian HK45C and a true HK45CT, but for practical purposes the same gun.

I have both, they're both excellent, but I seem to be a USP guy. The USP definitely gets more firing time. Nice pic on the NATO green.
