This has been discussed ad naseum on pretty much every gun-related discussion board on the internet. The simple truth is that German law prevents German gunmakers from selling "military style weapons" to civilians, including civilians in foreign counties. That is why HK had to come up with the bizarre-looking SL-8 instead of simply selling a semi-auto G36 – they wanted to make sure that their government does not go after their a$$ for selling "weapons of war" to the pubic. As of now, all HK's are made in Obendorf, Germany. The only way you'd see HK 416 in civilian hands is if they start making them in the States.darkestjedi said:how come HK are such a bunch of dinks?
