Holosun HS403c "Review"

I've looked at these a few times. I just thought the solar panel recharged the battery. I didn't realize it would run without a battery! Sweet!! Really like the idea of the motion on function too. Gotta get one of these to try out! Thanks!

There is no recharging. They call it dual power sight.

I have choice where my electronics comes from. I also do have a choice where my optics come from. FYI, my computer is custom built by me using American, Mexican and South Korean parts. My electronics are all Japanese or South Korean by the way.

Your TV? Your microwave oven? Your blender? Your Router? Your Phone? The parts inside all of those?

I guarantee I'd find more than a few Made In China stickers in your house. Thats just the reality of today. Don't kidd yourself. You are not going to be very successful at convincing us that you don't own ANYTHING that comes from China.

Let me give you a hint - they have Chinese made components.

Bottom line is, if you have to ask where a $230 red dot optic is made, is the first sign that you don't live in the real world.

I didn't realize the Chinese manufactured 100% of the budget red dots out there. Silly me for not living in the real world and thinking that. I guess I was wrong in thinking that they make some red dots in Malaysia and the Philippines as well as some rifle scopes there.

At which point in time did I say I didn't own anything from China? I simply said I won't purchase my optics from there.

Let's ease up on the guy haha if he wants to spend 400$ more on the exact same product he is free to do so. I was just making this to let people know there is a cheaper quality option. I agree, I generally wouldn't buy an optic from China either as optics have to be quality too stand up on a gun..but this one is.

So you're ok with buying other chinese products? Just so we're clear...

ncstar... top chinese quality right there, lol. just like their websites, apps, and yah their accounting. missing a few dozen million dollars here, there, everywhere, everyone gets a few million dollars...

Where do you reckon the glass come from?

Back off the guy who cars are f he won't buy Chinese optics. It's his money he can do what he wants with it. I kinda agree with him but if it's quality then it is if it not which most Chinese stuff tends to be it not.

And yes I didn't say he won't buy anything from China just optics. So back off this is a review from the OP not bash someone for not wanting to buy an optic made in China.

Well, for $400 more it's not the exact same product, but this is 90% of the performance for 1/3 of the price. If you're using your rifle to save your life go right ahead and buy the best but this is a great optic for range use.

Putting out blanket statements on goods made in certain country is stupid and doesn't add anything to this thread. Yes we don't live under a rock - China does make lots of crap but they can also make some decent products and this Holosun is one of them.

Have one sitting atop my PS90. Needed a reliable red dot with a small profile and not too concerned about the beating it would take from the 5.7 round.

Works awesome; repeatability-zero back everytime; clear glass; good dot; easy to operate controls without removing your eye from the sight, auto "on" with movement.

I didn't need an Aimpoint on this one as I don't intend to: throw it against the wall, drop it from a helicopter, run it over with a HumVee, bury it in a block of ice. If I had
the money, I would buy one just to do those things to it...maybe it'll pass like the Aimpoint did. But at this time, my 'real world' doesn't encompass those activities...
