Home Defense W/ Restricted

If Wendy was being brutally attacked in front of my house, I would assist her by calling 911 and then watch from my window. I'm sure that is exactly what she would want me to do.

yea its pretty amazing what people will say on public forums of any sort... that being said i think it is disgusting that as canadians we dont have the right to defend ourselves. The NFA works hard on all of these issues and god help em. The real kicker in canada is that if you prove your life is in danger you can actually get a ccw permit ( you know, if you are in danger or are rich and powerful) because you know, their lives count for so much more than ours do. We need a republic. anyways.

Actually, you don't need to be rich or powerful, you just need a few pictures of sombody with somebody elses wife and your good to go. The pictures just need to be of the right somebody, that's all...

If its so rare to "get away" with shooting an armed/violent home invader, how did Basil Parasirais do it when he shot and killed a police officer with an unregistered handgun?:wave:f:P:2:

Because he was in justifiable fear of his life, and if you find yourself in that situation, in your own home, chances are pretty good that the court will rule in your favour.:ban:

It was not unregistered. It wasn't registered to his current address.

Yes I do have an idea. He wasn't lucky. He was smart. And he had the public behind him and the last thing LE wants is to press charges and prove in court he had a right to act as he did.

Yes but the RCMP did recommend charges. From the article:

RCMP recommended Galloway be charged as well — with unsafe storage and careless use of a firearm. The Crown disagreed.

All of you guys really stand a good point, if you wouldn't mind contacting your MP and telling them what you would change about are gun laws concerning Self defense, Property Defense and CCW! It could save the life of anyone who is deciding whether to pick up a knife or a gun when something goes bump in the night!

WRONG. If your life (or the life of those under your protection) is in danger by an attacker, You'd shoot to STOP an attack, and stop shooting when the attack is repulsed. If you EVER tell the cops you were 'shooting to kill'... wow... good luck!

I'm fairly sure a dead attacker means the attack has stopped, I'm not saying to walk up and plug him a second time. On the other hand I don't think many people just walk of a hit of 00 buck to the chest. I'm not a trained LEO I don't know how to shoot to stop some one and not kill them. But then again I thought police were trained to shoot center of mass?

I can picture it now, you coming out of the gun room yelling "I'm gonna smoke you fool!" holding your gat sideways.

And here's the sights to go with it... ;)

In a related way I would like to make a point that it is ironic that if you were to succumb to your injuries while protecting your family from an attack or home invasion and even managed to kill one of the attackers before your demise.I am sure that you would be praised and considered as a hero.If you had protected your family in the same situation that caused a death while protecting your loved ones and survive you would be considered a criminal, charged and possibly convicted of manslaughter.Canadian Justice at it's best.

Personally I am of the opinion that if someone breaks into your home, while your home, they intend to hurt or kill you. It is that simple. If the dirt bags and junkies slither in while you are not home, then take what you want.
If i am in bed, and have the time to first secure my wife and kids then arm myself, the choice to live or die will be up to the dirtbag(s). They get one warning if I have time. As far as if they only have a knife, well as the saying goes, don't bring a knife to a gun fight.
