Home made rattle bag?

Could anyone tell me what is in these rattle bags? Any ideas on how to make my own other than antlers?

They can have hard plastic or hardwood sticks. in a bag. They can be pretty cheap so I wouldn't bother making your own. However, if you like to be a DIY fellow fing a set of horns, trim off the brow tines and use the real thing.

I made one for $2 only cause I could not find one locally. Bought a piece of wooden dowel at home hardware and cut it into 2" pieces. I bought a bingo dabber bag at the dollar store and put them in that. Worked fine, I just decided to stop using it.

The ones I've opened had dowels with one edge shaved down to make them grind together instead of rubbing off one another.
