Not necessarily. Here are the tools and materials I used: 8-10oz leather, scissors to cut-out pattern from file folder, sharp knife to cut-out leather, pattern tracing wheel with every other tooth ground down for marking stitching holes, drill press with small bit to drill holes for stitching, leathercraft cement for gluing leather together (can also use contact cement), wax coated nylon thread and two needles for stitching, sharpie marker for wet moulding and burnishing edges, oil dye and brush to "stain" leather, larger drill bit to drill out belt slot ends and one item I forgot to picture - a sharp chisel to cut-out belt slots. I didn't bother grooving the stitching lines.
I'll just add another hearty "WELL DONE" to the mass of replies. Nice neat work worthy of a skilled craftsman. The molding of the leather came out really nice. I'll bet you smiled when it came out of the press so neatly defined. I know I would. There's always that doubt when doing something more advanced for the first time even when you know it's supposed to work out in theory.
