Well I finally got to shoot my rifle beyond 300 yards and I was very happy with the results. I set up at 100 yards and zeroed my rifle. I then moved to the 500 meter/550 yard range and dialed my scope up 11.5 moa and left .5 moa and shot this group. I had about a 10 mph tailwind. My very first shot is the one in the black.
I was pleased and surprised that I was able to see all my bullet holes with my 8-32 Sightron. My largest group was 5.5" and my smallest was just under 2.5". I shot 3 groups, and my 14 year old son shot 2. The average for the 5 groups was 3.75".
Here is my rifle
It is a custom Remington 700 with a Rock Creek barrel chambered in 308. It is sitting in an AICS with a Jewel trigger. The rifle was put together by Rick and the guys at Alberta Tactical Rifles.
The load I used for this range trip was 155 gr Berger Hunting VLDs pushed by some RL-15.
