Hornady 1 sh*t case lube

I use exclusively lanolin and 99% alcohol (Dillon Case Lube clone) between 1:12 to 1:16 ratio depending on the application. I tried other case lubes but when the Camdex is running at 3600 cases per hour and grabs a non-lubricated case it makes a mess. I find that the lanolin leaves enough residual lubricant in the dies without excessive build up that it saves me having stuck cases. It also works well with running the 300 Blackout cases, not too sticky that swarvings stick to cases and I only have to lubricate the cases once for two passes.

I used several cans of the Hornady One Shot without issue, but eventually had a stuck case because I hesitated with a case at the top of the stroke (doorbell rang). Not the end of the world as I'm well set up to drill/tap and punch stuck cases, but still a pain.
Decided to try lanolin and alcohol, and will never go back to the Hornady spray. I thought the Hornady spray was a big time saver over over manual lubes like Lee. But lanolin/alcohol is even faster. Couple hundred brass in a plastic tub, couple sprays, stir the brass by hand, let dry, done. And you can let a case sit at the top of the stroke, or run it through several times, etc. Definitely a superior lube to Hornady. Way less effort to resize.

I usually get mine from Shoppers Drug but you have to normally ask for it. They usually keep it behind the counter to avoid selling it to alco's. If you can't find the 99%, use the 90%.

alcoholics dont drink isopropyl alcohol because you dont need to drink very much to die from it. the human body doesnt metabolize isopropyl alcohol the same way as ethyl alcohol (which is what we can drink).

I have a can I've been trying. I don't like the fumes from it, or the usual safety warnings. I need to do the lanolin alcohol thingy too.

I use imperial sizing wax, applying it is a bit of a pain but I haven't had a single case stuck yet.

Using it sparingly as it says right on the tin is not much of a pita, a little bit on the thumb and forefinger and done. Wipes off with a paper towel. Easy peasy.

Between my Dillon 1050 and 650 I have run more than 22,000 rounds through in the last 8 months only using Hornady 1 Shot without any issues at all. With that said, it's been all straight walled pistol cartridges.

I don't use any lube on straight walled pistol cartridges.

FWIW You can look at the auto parts place or aisle at CT for products that are mostly alcohol. I forget which ones... carb cleaner I think,.. but for sure its there somewhere
