Hornady One Shot case lube

Unique case lube gets my vote......

I do use one shot, but just for 9mm before I run it through a Lee 1000. I usually start with a Rubbermaid tote full of brass(10K or so) spray liberally over the top of the brass cases, mix and repeat. I usually use about a quarter to a third of a can to treat a bin full.

It stays lubed until the bin is empty....

Curiously enough, of the 6 calibres a I reload on Lee 1000 presses, the 9mm is the only one that gets any lube.......

Cheers!

I've been using Cabela's pump spray lube. I'll place a bunch of 7.62x39 cases in an old metal pencil box, 24 at a time. Two quick spritzes, close the case and shake gently. Open the case and leave for five minutes. Just enough time to let the alcohol flash off (as the instructions on the bottle specify) and leave the lubricating wax residue. Resize.

So far I've done ~ a thousand rounds with no problem. But then, I'm using cheap Lee dies and I'm also very new at reloading, so I must be doing something wrong.
Maybe as I gain experience things will begin to go awry.

I did watch a video of a fellow using this type of lube. He was demonstrating how the spray was no good. His technique was to spray and immediately resize while the brass was still wet. The case got stuck just about every time.

I tried it and gave up with it also. Guy in Alberta that reloads proffesionaly uses Pam and has no problems.

.....I have sized THOUSANDS of .223 and .308 cases with non-stick cooking spray.... Let these folks pay $10-15 for a urine sample size container of lube just because it makes em feel better :D

I made the mistake of using One Shot last week when I was prepping .308 Win using an old (very old) Lee single stage. I had a case that stuck so badly that I ripped the two front legs of the loader right off the bench! :runaway:

This story gets even worse. When I went to unstick the case from the die the next day, I some how managed to break the decapping pin off my die.

Talk about an expensive weekend...:bangHead: f:P:2:

Not long ago to demonstrate what happens when you try to FL size a belted magnum without lube I shoved an STW case into an RCBS FL die via Rock Chucker. When I lowered the ram the shellholder tore the rim of the casing. If you have decent equipment and have it mounted properly nothing should ever ever break or come apart.

I then showed my father how to make your own stuck casing remover with a pipe bushing, some washers, a tap, and the proper sized bolt. I then take the die out of my press, remove the decapping pin, thread the die in from the bottom in the press, drill and tap the primer hole, place the bushing with a heavy washer on top, thread in the bolt and it will pull the case slick as snot.
