It is a military surplus rifle so it isn't the most accurate rifle for hunting. I shoot a CIA VZ2008 (US) with a factory surplus bbl. I am an awful, impatient shot when it comes to rifles.... especially my surplus 7.62's with cheap surplus ammo. My vision is shot, I drink more than I should (according to the doctors), and I'm honestly not a good shot. With that said, I can pull off 4" groups at 100 yards on a good day using the 16"bbl and a trs25, Yugo surplus ammo. Your mileage better vary! Being a hunter, maybe smoothing pout the trigger system, you should be able to find 4" groups at 200yards with the proper handloads. As far as optics go, install a side mount rail and make sure you get a brass deflector to keep your scope from getting beat up.
That's my advice, its not worth 2 cents though!!
