Hello,
I'm a european owner of an M-305. I have never met or even heard of another M-305 owner in my country, although the seller supposedly had been able to sell ten or so rifles before he decided it was too much of a hassle.
Anyway, I'm browsing Canadian stores looking for some stuff for my gun. Primarily magazines and a new trigger assembly.
Mags: We have no magazine restrictions, and I'd like to buy a small bunch of 5/20 rounders and then modify them so that they work as originally intended. Does anyone still sell 5/20-mags that can easily be made into fully functional 20-rounders? AFAIK the mags usually have a small weld in them to limit the capacity. AFAIK (correct me if I'm wrong) this can be remedied with a file, quite easily. If the mags come with welded floor plates however... that's a no-no. Can't handle that.
Trigger assembly: My safety is so stiff it's stupid. I have to use my thumb to take the gun off safe. I've had the rifle for over five years - it's not getting better with use! I thought they were supposed to be taken off safe using the outer part of the trigger finger. Trying to do that with my gun will just make your hand hurt. Are american made trigger assemblies any better than my Norinco?
I've come to this forum several times over the years. I appreciate the help from you guys! The rifle has served me well as a hunting rifle. After shimming and proper handloading I can actually make nice groups with this rifle!
