I have a "loaned" 10/22 in my safe right now. I think it is "loaned" on an indefinate basis from a relative that doesn't need it anymore.
It came to me with a scope and tip off rings on it, but the scope is out of focus at distances over about 10 yards. I think it's toast.
I want to set this up as a grouse gun for my wife and put a new scope on it, but I don't want to spend much money on it as it will probably only shoot 10 rounds per year, and one day the relative *may* ask for it back...
What's a half decent scope for shooting grouse/squirels at a maximum distance of 25 yards a couple times each year?
Is it even worth it to go with the Crappy Tire Tasco's? Or, even with the minimal shooting, will I regret that purchase?
How cheap are the cheap scopes?
