How do I assembeling abolt from 7.62mmfirarms

powmia56 has this tool that he brings up from down south when he attends the clinc that by squizing his hands and moving a zap strap strips a M14 bolt quicker that I can even get my tool kit out. Then again M14doctor.com has this tool that I use that makes it supper simple for people like me that constantly loose those little parts when I strip the bolt. Here there youtube video:

That clears things up for me but I'm still going to ship out my bolt the long with my rifle to the doctor.
Thanks a lot Satan( that just doesn't sound right calling someone Satan HA-HA )

So if the USGI bolt needs to be lapped after being installed , does that mean if i put wolff springs in my norc bolt that it will have to have this done too ?

No. The springs don't change your head spacing. The head spacing is determined by the amount of material on the bolt shoulders and the amount of material in the chamber. All the bolt springs do is maintain the correct tension on the extractor and ejector.

PS In reference to the earlier comment that it is a stripped bolt, you are right that it doesn't specify "stripped bolt" but if you look at the pictures on the website they are showing a stripped bolt. I do agree that it could have been clearer, esp for people who haven't bought a bolt before.

This would be a good sticky.

I agree, claven2's bolt lapping pictorial is an excellent reference for the do it yerselfers amongst us..... I vote to sticky that one too...... perhaps a bump is in order :D

I do offer the service of lapping in these types of bolts but unless a guy is getting a bunch of work done , it's cost prohibitive to ship it here and back plus the cost of lapping which by itself if about 65.00 or 40.00 booked in a package. The other thing is my bench is basically closed for any new rifle work.

stickying that info would be excellent reference material.

here's some tools routinely used in the bolt lapping process. xtra fine aluminumbased valve grinding/lapping paste, found at princess auto, canadian tire, auto parts stores.
brownells carries the CLYMER .308 Go (1.630") headspace guage.
brownells also carries a M1a bolt lapping tool for those prelapping a new bolt into a receiver prior to threading on a new barrel. this tool is not used when lapping a bolt to a barrelled action.
feeler guages from 1 to 3 thou

By the end of the month I will have all the bits and pieces for the bolt and a New rifle that will be going to you Thomas.
And planning on having you put on a stainless steel barrel and your New Carbon Fiber Stock plus any upgrades you feel fit! Just need to set a price on the work.
