How do you explain shooting coyotes?

Just get 'em in the sights...be sure of shot placement...pull trigger....The opposers have evidently not seen the mess these "dogs" can do to a sheep herd or young calf or calves. Often killing more than they can eat and leaving much behind when they leave. Also the attacks on humans seems to be on the rise.

Our sheep, and cattle arnt bothered by the coyotes! Provided I go out an kill the crap out of them. Same with the gophers. They werent causing anymore trouble making dangerous holes for our livestock when they where full of #3 buckshot. Im accually a little dissapointed :( I ran out of gophers, and havnt seen any for 2 years. Everyone should do their part and kill coyotes. They are overpopulating anyways. Just make sure to kill em proper.

On another note. My sister once ran out in front of me to stop me from shooting a coyote who was in our field. I had shouldered a loaded 30-06. some people are just stupid when it comes to the issue of killing other predators. Plenty of people have forgotten that humans are predators who use tools, they are just too used to the store bought meats. They forget that stuff dies and we survive. The coyotes are just trying to do the same thing. But its our food and they cant have it. So the solution is we kill them. Thats what you should tell your family members who have a problem with you killing coyotes.

Tell them you're the Apex predator and you're removing competition for your food source and asserting dominance on your territory. Then go hunting with your buddies, shoot whatever you like and have a good laugh about it. The End

If their population isn't kept under control by whatever means, they will starve to death, after eating your poodle and Fluffy and whatever livestock they can get their paws on.

I dotn understand, if you kill a yote, you skin it do you take the skin to a taxidermist to do somethign to it or you can just take it like that?

Id love something like that hanging on my wall.

Yup. When I bought my property, I never saw rabbits or grouse on it. Now that the yotes population has been controlled to a degree, I see at least 4 bunnies every day on my way to work. There are a lot more grouse around too. The only down side is that I've seen more racoons, but they'll be dealt with.

.....;)........

yeah the conservation part is really hard to get accross, especially to animal lovers. i love animals but understand the need for balance. i dont bother trying to convince people guns are safe, or that hunting is acceptable. i dont talk about guns to anti's and hope they leave us alone! Just remember, Liberal is a noun describing someone who's so open minded, their brain has completely fallen out of their head!

~~~happiness is a warm gun~~~
Hoo Weee, You boys got a powerful blood lust fer killin. You should check out whot one dude did in Whistler BC. Got his self a hundred dawgs. He sure did. Wasted the pelts though.
Im pretty much done explaining myself to anyone. "what kind of phone do you have, what kind of car do you drive, why do you hunt, why do you eat meat, killing animals is wrong" One guy at work explained to me that if I miss an animal Im hunting, I KILL A TREE :mad:
No talking douche bag, no talking. :kickInTheNuts:
I try not to have any conversations with idiots.
For some reason people think it's okay to question why you hunt.
When confronted by this I ask them if they have a problem with ###s? The answer is always "NO"
I then ask them if they would go up to a ### person and question their lifestyle. "That's none of my business" is the typical answer.
"Exactly" is my response.
Or a good old fashioned "Phuck you" works.:D
Some people think that you can explain why they hunt. These non hunters have their minds made up and I think it's a confrontational conversation starter. Their arguments are based on emotion.
We'll never change their minds so why bother.
