We used to go heads up intill the last week and then skinned and sent them off to the meat shop. Now we skin as soon as we are out of the bush for the night now don't laugh people, we hang them heads up (still....) but we start the skinning on the back of the neck, cut off the feet, and make cuts for were we want the hide to break, then with the loose flap on the back of the neck a chunk of wood, about 3x3x 1inch thickness, gets wraped over in side (fur on the wood) then a peice of 1/2 inch rope is tied around the hide behind the block, on the other end there is a loop. Next we take the hook from the winch on the 4 wheeler, let some cable out, back up intill it is taunt, then wind it back in, pulls the hide right off in seconds, mind you you will need 2 or more guys to hold back the deer. I have a pully system in the works for next year though. Don't laugh, we all thought it was pretty f*cked ourselfs intill we tryed it. You will be amazed.
