How do you have one in the chamber and a full magazine with a CRF bolt action?

And that is a good system. Has absolutely nothing to do with Model 70's or Springfields, mind you, and is not applicable if you have slid a round in ahead of the extractor but a good way of loading that sixth round, nonetheless.

If you recall the OP asked about his Mauser 98, and that's why I posted the video link, not about a M70 or a Springfield. . But out of curiosity I tried the Mauser system of loading the extra 6th round in one of my, 30-06, M70's and it worked, slipped under and into position. . Didn't try with any of the other calibers.

It was you who brought the Model 70 into the discussion. I'm sure this method would work on a Model 70 or a Model 54; or you could simply drop the cartridge into the chamber and close the bolt as the design allows.

I think this is a lost cause Bill as he is far more experienced and knowledgeable than you and I will ever be.LOL
