I'm interested in a stainless steel sig, just wondering how good the finish is. Does it compare to s&w revolver stainless quality? Feel free to post pics of your SS Sig...

Finish is very solid.

Here is my P226 stainless elite, over 1k rounds and many cleanings, finish is as it was from day one.

I have no complaints on the bead blasted finish on my 1911 stainless carry...lots of attention to detailing on it, looks good, and will still look the same 50,000 rds from now if I had to guess, as long as I do my part to clean it.

The one on the laeft (black), is that all stainless steel in nitron finish?

I am looking for all stainless steel both barell and frame with nitron finish, but no one has it in stock.

I can use some pointers where to get them. I don't like back order, so preferably stores who have it in stock.

Left one is my Desert Eagle. Finish is black oxide. Very, very durable.

The one on the left is a desert eagle I believe. Different animal.

Questar can likely order in an all stainless nitron finished one for you from the new production run. I went with a stainless elite myself as the all nitron had not gone back into production when I ordered.

Great gun no matter the finish.

I just like the look of black gun. I don't like the stainless steel look, but I want all stainless steel gun in black.

From all SIG P226 lines, what other models that feature all stainless steel both barrel and frame. Is it only Elite Stainless and Stainless Nitron?? I like the Elite Dark one, but not sure if it is all stainless steel.

If the specs on the frame mention hard anodizing, the frame's aluminum alloy.

Thank you for the clarification.

I see videos on youtube how it is very common to see wearing on SIG alloy frame. Is this also the case with the stainless steel frame as well?

Which one is stronger and more durable, aluminium or stainless steel?

The only Sigs that have a stainless frame and a stainless slide are the "stainless elites" and the new stainless nitron guns. The differences also extend to whether you like the beavertail on the elite guns or not. (leaving aside the X guns)

SRT trigger systems would be the other big difference. The SRT is in my opinion a much better trigger, it could be retrofitted to the nitron gun, but I do not believe it comes with it.

I bought a 226 ST (out of production) off a friend of mine here.
It does not have the beaver-tail. Finish holds up great, has like 400 rounds through it, maybe 450.

It's a heavy gun (42 oz or so...) but recoil in .40 is negligible.

whats the difference between 226ST and elite stainless? They look the same.

Anyway, I am looking for the stainless one in black/nitron.

Beavertail on the back..

The pic of the ST is what the nitron you want will look like, except black.

Look at the sig website, the difference is obvious. They feel different in the hand, so try both style frames if you can.

I prefer the non-beavertail one. The problem is non of the stores here carry what I am looking for, and all of them is special order which they say can take up to 3 months. Can you imagine waiting for 3 months? That's a long time. I am still looking for stores who have it in stock.

Waited 4 months for my stainless one....so yes I can imagine:D

Doubtful anyone has one as they just came out.

So order one!
