How good were Browning Auto 5`s

Trying them and owning one are not the same.If you have not owned a superx1 you are in no position to compare it to a A5.Like I said the A5 is a good gun but 1900 engineering it is not designed as well as a superx1 was.
Look at it this way. Nobody at our club is still shooting a A5 for skeet or trap and I know if one guy hunting with one.We still have probally 12 -15 superx1still being used on a regular basis. Bet your cluib is the same. take care

Military used them, 'nuff said.

I have owned both ,Super x Model 1 Winchesters and Browning Auto 5s.The Super-X Model 1 is a fine firearm but in my opinion it is no Browning Auto 5.

Military used them, 'nuff said.

That's neither here nor there. The US Army Ordnance system has adopted some pretty awful weapons over the years:

I'm not even going to get into guns issued by other countries' militaries, like Italy or Japan.

If you're going to appeal to authority, at least pick a good one.

They are sooooo good that people are still ranting 'bout them.
Nuff said................................:)
Hahaaha.

Said nuff.
Gewd one.

my uncle shot lots of trap with his a5. he claims over 9500 shells and never a jam or issue. he loves the gun and when he brought it out i did too. the high back looks great. and the weight it up their but felt solid.

What is a Fudd? Am I a Fudd?

The more important question is;
is being a fudd a good thing or is being a fudd just a label that some use to shut down and argument or a certain opinioin. Either way I am happy to be a fudd and I think there is nothing fuddlier than an auto five:D

Now furshure you're making me into a FUDDLY.:p
I do enjoy firearms of all sorts, but just can't seem to grasp
this takcycool stuff.
Hand guns are great, but with all the legalities, I shy from these as well.
Not to say if there was one handy and it was offered to fire away, eye'd jump at the chance.
So maybe I'm a tad Elmer Fudly.
A-5's are like a Harley.
Either ya like'em or ya don't.
Pennies nutzz, just pennies...............

kamlooky,
if you are FUDDLY that's OK, because I am too
I don't grasp takycool stuff either and that is why I stay away from the b and g forum, but as long as they are legal they're OK too
Hand guns are not my thing anymore, and I used to have many and I agree with what you say. I just got so much time and so much money so I.... well I just like other stuff more. I am for sure a Fudd.
A-5s "Either ya like'em or ya don't" I do NOT agree.
I like the A-5 and in a strange way I may even love the A-5, but the A-5 is not at the top of my list of likes and loves.

Nuff said eh!
