This thread had the potential of going epic.
But I find myself disappointed.
Where's that Blaxsun character when you need him !!![]()

Thanks guys! I liked that the XCR used the 7.62 for convenience reasons, but if the ACR is a much better rifle I don't mind spending the extra $500 or so.
ACR, although I may be somewhat biased...![]()
Have had my xcr in 223 for a few years now. About 2500 rounds through it. Has never let me down yet. I love how customizable it is with ar assesories. Heavy but it is nonrestricted which is the biggest selling point for me. The only draw back is that it is brutally loud! Not a gun you want to shoot with hearing protection. I would think 762 x 39 would be easier on the ears I would highly recommend it.
A gun you no longer own in a calibre it doesn't officially shoot.![]()
Thanks guys! This is my first time with rifles so I'm not really sure what to look for or what I like. I liked that the XCR used the 7.62 for convenience reasons, but if the ACR is a much better rifle I don't mind spending the extra $500 or so. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a place that has them in stock so I can see how it feels.
Misha,
Where in BC are you? I'm unfortunately on a very long business excursion until about April, but if you can wait that long (and save up money lol) I can let you try both rifles at Poco in BC, as long as your ammo is not corrosive. Keep in mind that the ACR I have has several upgrades on it so stock will be significantly less fun to shoot. I also have a Tavor because you honestly might as well try that one too before spending the not insignificant pile of cash on one of these puppies.
Get the Tavor.![]()
I'm on the island, although that could change to the mainland in a couple of months. A Tavor too, nice. That was the third gun I was looking at.
I'm definitely seeing a lot of love for the XCR out there. Does anyone have any criticism to consider? *cough*blaxsun*cough*
Ok man, I'm sending a pm to you now. I don't know what that other guy is talking about "nothing beating ARs for reliability" but the XCR has passed the OTB test so there's something to consider if you need to shoot through mud or in water.
I know,I know, it's really stupid but they did do one lol.
I have shot mine completely caked in mud from hours of dirt biking in the rain with it on my back. Nice thick greasy clay that you had to scrape off your soles once in a while. I've shot it at -36c too. I'm somewhere around 5000 rounds now with zero issues, even went about 4500 between cleanings without a single prob. I only cleaned it because I was going shooting with guys that take care of their gear, I didn't wanna feel like a hick.
Yes, because the XCR is such an awesome battle rifle that it's been fielded by every major military in the world...I'm not trying to knock it (well, maybe just a little...
), but no Tavor or AR...
