Like Ronin, I have too many. Here's why:
When I started, I knew I was going to have at least 1 .22 rifle (how foolish I was then!); I wanted a "cool" semi-automatic back then (in my younger days), so I got the Henry AR-7.
Of course, it refused to cycle on most anything I fed it (until I much-later discovered the solid-nosed Minimags, bless 'em and CCI), so I then proceeded to purchase my second .22, a solid boltie...
I love my Rem 512. It will eat anything -
even Remington ammo! It shoots accurately, is stubbornly reliable, and is just a gem to shoulder. Plus, its got the whole .22 short/long/long rifle thing going for it. It
is my go-to rimfire. However...
There's a nearby range that allows air-rifles and single-shot .22's, so I got a Savage 3B for me and a Cooey 39 for my sister to shoot there. Never been to the range yet (naturally), but I've made sure the 2 have seen ample "backyard & basement" action. By the way, while I was looking for that second rifle ...
I ran into a little difficulty trying to buy that Cooey 39 - thanks to the CFC, the friendly CGN fellow discovered it was still registered to his father-in-law. Now, here's what makes this a great site, and the people on it wonderful; the excellent CGN'er instead offered to seel me his beautifully oiled, absolutely lovely Winchester Cooey 60 at the same price as the 39, because of the mixup and travel involved - he is a credit to the site and, if he allows it, I'll post his name later. So that was to be my last .22, but....
There's a Nylon 66 I bought as a fixer-upper and I am now wanting to sell. It had buttstock damage that I was pleased to be able to fix (I like working with plastic), but now it's just sitting there, as I am (admittedly) frightened to strip the bugger down to its internals.
So, there you go?
