Looking for a decent, yet inexpensive bolt action

The answer for me, is 1

Just picked up a "little badger" . Looks like fun.
I am personally not a big fan of 22's , other then to train new shooters/cheap plinking.
The little badger looks like it could be some fun.... Good compact survival / zombie apoc. rifle(carbine?) ... I am actually going to toss my new Holosun 510c on it , just for ####s n giggles (it wont stay on it . lol)

EDIT: meant to say "wilderness survival rifle" ..... It probably wont be worth a bucket of piss during a zombie apocalypse

Imagine a world where we own as many cars and motorcycles as we do guns.... Hahahaha!!! Canada would be a HUGE parking lot!
Ive got 5.
one semiauto dirt cheap marlin that looks like a ruger 10/22
two lakefields that are dirt cheap but shoot pretty good
a CZ 455. nothing special.. Looks like all the rest out there.
and a stolle that I never shoot. waiting on the day when I can feed it the good stuff

So yeah, I have a volkswagon beetle, two hundai ponies, one chevy 2500 and a porsche 944. LoL

Cz 452 lux
Cz 452 varmint
Couple cooey 64

And for other rimfire i have a savage in 17 wsm

Only one stock 10/22 - got it for us to have some practice for Mapleseed event. It's my start with rimfire rifles.
Now planning to buy bolt action CZ sometimes soon..
Love my Ruger Mark IV on handgun side of rimfire

None. My Diana 45 T01 .177 drops all the varmits I need to out to 60 yards with ease if you do you part. Exceptional accuracy. Outstanding sights. 900fps velocity with 11.2grn triple skirted hi-po pellets. Not a single issue in over 12 years. Thousands of shots...;)
And never changed a thing, never needed to modify anything. Bone stock. Superb rifle!
Had a BL22 & a 10/22 forty years ago. Miss them from time to time, but have been too impressed with this Diana to even consider the cost of those .22's now..

I have the following, AR7, CIL 310, 1022, AR. 22 conversion kit, STG44/22, 22/45, I like shooting them all.

I will be selling the STG44 though got way too much in her (4 magazines, leather sling, scopemount), unfortunately my son doesn't shoot it much and I have my 1022.

Why?

Because it is stress free practice.

10/22 for close shots.

I love my .17 Savage bolt, light, handy, shoots like a laser out to 200 yards!

That's unusually good performance in muzzle velocity from the break barrel Diana 45 with extra heavy 11+ grain pellets. The Diana 48, a side-cocking model, is even more powerful.

Springers just cannot compete with PCPs.

I will not pest with my springers and in fact will not use anything less than a 25.4 grain .25 pellet, as .177 is an ice pick and shots can go wrong while that pellet is on it's way.

This is my .25 Condor I built with a Lothar barrel, shoots up to 70 grain cast slugs, but JSB 25.4 grain works well on mosts pests. :)

I agree. I've had HW and AA PCP's and they are considerably more powerful and consistent than springers. And having spent considerable time on CAF in the past I recognize your name.

I have had 48's and 54's and while I have enjoyed good accuracy coupled with plenty of performance for small game hunting, up to fox sized animals, the spring piston guns, regardless of whether they are break barrel or side lever guns, cannot compete with PCP rifles, either for power, accuracy or consistency. The firing sequence on PCP's is far less harsh than it is with spring piston rifles. Where springers can be extremely picky on how they are held, PCP's are very forgiving. I got out of air rifles and pistols a few years ago, with the exception of a few Sheridan .20 cal pistols we use for grouse and hares when bowhunting... there have been some advancements in PCP rifles over the past decade... I am tempted to jump back in.

Impressive. What is that rig worth...??
