How many deer did you see during this seasons hunt?

We had strangest year we ever had at the camp 
10 guys first week
12 second week, ( I hunted both )
I saw not a single freakin deer in two weeks
Saw three bucks sun before the hunt 400yds froms camp
& a doe & buck monday after the hunt
But get this...not a single hunter saw a set of horns during the two week hunt
Got 5 deer in total for worst year in ???????????

Ya I'm in New Brunswick so deer are a lil more scarce...I think we seen 4 doe, 2 bucks and a doe fawn

Reviewing this thread makes it painfully obvious the diff between East & West, farmland & bush!!
I can't imagine seeing 50 or more deer in a day
But I can see where it would be very easy to pass on any shot!
Much unlike our eastern bush camp hunts where average deer shot to deer seen in a normal weeks hunt would be somewhere in a ratio of 1 shot & 2-4seen ??
I imagine you westerners can now see how here it's hard to pass up any shot when it may be your only shot
As my earlier post said I personally saw 0 deer in two weeks of hunting this year!

Years ago whe I moved from N.S. to Alberta I dam near put my truck off the road more than once looking the deer in the feilds. Now I just enjoy seeing them year round.
Funny thing is the s.o.b's can dissappear some fast when the huntiing season starts
I was coming back fromo a hockey game with my boys two weeks ago and we stoppped in where I do much of my deer hunting and we counted 200 deer and one moose in 10 miles. All but 25 or so were mulies and they all looked really good.
After all these years of hunting Alberta, looking at 35 in one field (albeit awsome to see)is something I still can't get used to. I guess the Nova Scotia bush hunter is still part of me.
Senior, I am in eastern Ont (Perth area) and before the season it's not uncommon to see 50+ deer in a harvested (or unharvested, for that matter) field. 2 days into hunting season, they're no where to be seen. It's incredible how small of a brush pile deer need to become invisible in. Like you said, it has everything to do about food supply.
Where I hunt deer, it is disappointing if we do not see 50+ muleys and 25+ Whitetails in a morning. Last Fall, in one day, I saw about 125 Elk, 6 Moose and over 180 deer. I LOVE B.C.!!!! Regards, Eagleye.
This mild winter has been a dream for hunters in southern ontario with minimal loss due to harsh climates. Considering we havn't any snow either means the open crops= fat deer.I see approx. 20-40 deer/ day in different locations. The best part is the deer have to be careful not to trip over all the wild turkeys!!
I saw a good number this year on four legs...however alot of them ended up on their backs being dragged out! My numbers just are not as impressive as those fellas from out west but the best year I've had yet! I was blessed with the oportunity to take 8 deer that were in range but was only able to get 4. The other 4 were accounted for as follows....1 complete $%? up....1 was shot by partner before I could reload.....1 was running with the 1 I took during muzzel loader season and wasn't quick enough on the reload.....and the final one was the best of all! @ 90 yards on a 10 point heavy body with the ML, I tossed a powerbelt .45 under his chest...why??? because I didn't hold the dahm barrel on target long enough...lesson learned? YOU BET!

hunted approx. 5 days seen 15 shooters on public land.(4 bucks)ended up with a 1x2 buck,doe,and 2 button bucks.The snowstorm first night into the season didn't help much either.I think I seen more on private land driving to and from my hunting spot.Oh well filled up the freezer pretty good so it wasn't
that bad of a year after all.Maybe 2006 will be better.
