How many is too many ammo

Doesn't it sound like someone is phishing???

I wonder about the repetative threads about "show me your guns" etc. Who is keeping tabs on the guys with 4 or 5 or so Norcs, and SKS's etc. and why?

I plan on minimum 50,000 Rnds of 7.62x39, 10,000 Rnds of Shot gun shells, 1000 Rnds .50 cal and 20,000 Rnds of .22 lr.

What was really funny to me, was when the Police showed up at my yard sale, as someone had called and complained about me selling ammo. The officer asked what I was selling, I told him one of the items was 400 rounds of 9mm. He kind of took a step back and said, it sounds like I might be a dealer. I laughed and said that 400 rounds is one day at the range and it was in truth only a box and a half of UMC (250 round boxes). Realizing I wouldn't be intimidated, he admitted that it really wasn't that much.

If Liberals want to know how much ammo we have, who cares? They can go wring their hands and get all wound up on rabble. The truth is, we buy what we need, and keep as much as we can afford, for simple economic reasons. The costs of ammo, never go down. Certainly, right now they are recovering from a major spike 2 years ago (caused mainly by NRA gun salesman of the year, Obama), but I wouldn't say prices are going down, so much as coming back in line with their actual value. Most lefty's would say a muzzle stuffer and a ten pack of bullets is too much for a civillian to own, so let them ask and see the amounts some guys have. If anything them coming and asking questions, is just them being lazy, they could find most of these answers posted freely on the board if they just took the time to read a bit.

Numbers are really subjective. 5000 rounds may seem like a lot to some people who do not shoot, but 5000 rounds of .22LR during gopher season will last less than a week. 5000 rounds of 12 gauge target loads for a competitive trap shooter is a 4-5 week supply. 5000 rounds of ammo for a Milsurp shooter is very precious, its possible that it may never be sold again in this country, buy it while you can as it will only increase in value.

Whenever it is on sale, I try to buy and stock a reasonable amount for target shooting. I try to have at least 2k for each pistol and 1k for each rifle. I don't get out to shoot much as i'm disabled, but target shooting is the only sport I can do. I am a pensioner so ammo prices dictate a lot, I wish I could buy more.

when work actually allows me to train for IPSC I will go through 1000 9mm para in two weeks easy.

CanAm's 3 for 2 sale of non-corrosive 7.72x39 will keep my cz and sks fed and happy for some time.

Thank god for some of the sponsors on here who keep us happy.

May have to get that T-shirt some day.

I live in a town of 7000 people so I want a least enough round in case they all turn zombie...
wich I think that if zombiepocalipse come they is enough redneck with rifle and gun in my town that zombie would have a hard time...

so do you try to keep in the same caliber or you buy guns with different caliber?

Why would everyone in the town turn zombie expect for you?
