How many malfunctions do you get?

Back to the OP's observation, this is one of the things I noticed when I first started in IPSC.

And most of it was with the gamers (vice martial artists) who had these uber expensive guns that were constantly dicking with them.

I started out with an unmodified Argentine Model 1927 1911A1 using my handloads with Wolf's 230 hard cast LRN and NEVER had a wpn or ammunition malfunction, that with shooting well over 10K rounds.

But them gamers sure looked good with their pretty shirts, high speed (and un-reliable) kit and all their pre-stage time wasting IPSC-fu dance rituals. No wonder Jeff Cooper turned on the sport.

I used to get all sorts of stoppages using 1911s. Now I can't be bothered with them. The biggest flaw IMHO is the extractor. JMB should've designed it better. Oh well, it's Glock or bust now...

I too would like to know how a spring change is still acceptable or "legal" for production?? Perhaps they change them and keep quiet?

Well... I guess we have a better idea now. Hehe... Not even a single word on the subject.
