How many others have wives that hate you going hunting?

I must also be one of the lucky ones. My wife loves to hunt and fish with me which I think is great. I want a new gun? No problem as long as she gets a new one when she finds one that catches her eye lol. I think its a fair compromise. Gotta find those lovely ladies that enjoy the outdoors guys. Things are just much easier when you don't have to hear whining because you were out hunting or fishing.

Well I better not mention that she just cleaned the interior of my truck and all the windows and packed all my hunting clothing lol
I hunt with my Dad & my Uncle from Scotland for moose and alone for deer I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not but she always suports my hobbies any way she can even if she's not interested in them & I do the same of her's
That's how a relationship has to work 'give & take'.
There also has to be strong trust in a relationship

I have always enjoyed a "romantic walk with a gun" she enjoys hunting, and she butchers them as well... Guess I'm just a lucky fella... Sorry bout your luck... Maybe try n take her... Hope she enjoys the venison at least...

My wife enjoys going hunting with me but I have the in laws over for thanksgiving and they are driving me up the wall. I tried to sneak out for goose hunting just after lunch and I got a big ear full of not wanting to spend time with the family, how i never want to do stuff with them etc. I almost made it but here I am watching my mother in law do her thing and I'm hearing the geese fly outside. Halp?

Light your living room on fire. Say your going to get the hose, amd presto! Your now out of the house. It's up to you whether or not to board up the door after you get out.

Sorry bud, that's the only thing I can think of. It's either that or your screwed! :p

My wife would probably like me to stay home-- supposedly because she loves me and likes to spend time with me. She's shot a deer and has her WIN but is not much for the killing part. She has her WIN mostly to enter the moose draws, letting the oldest boy in as a partner on the license. She likes to come with us but not shoot. She helps process and enjoys eating it.

She doesn't complain and though I know she sometimes wish I wasn't spending so much money on shells, she let's me indulge in my psychosis.

It's funny how in the beginning everything you like they like. Then after you're married it's the opposite. She can buy shoes and Coach purses but you should have only a few guns.I asked her if she was a centipede with all the shoes? It was downhill from there.Gas /tag $ for northern moose trips is a waste but road trips shopping with her girlfriends is fine.

Mine's a passive-aggressive b..... - won't stop me, but will give me stink-eye, or sigh, or silent treatment. Slowly sucking the life out of me...

Note the lack of smiley...

Seemed to be a problem with my first wife ...
Problem solved.
No problem with wife No. 2
Never had a problem with hunting and women. If they don't like it, so long Muchacha :) Why the hell would anyone marry someone that doesn't support their beliefs/ideals?

I have 3 kids under 4 years of age, youngest being 3 weeks old. A solid relationship involves two people who make sacrifices, I won't have a hunting season this year and maybe won't be able to go out whenever u want or few more years. My wife gave up a lot to have the kids, least I can do I take a few lumps and bide my time. Not everyone is into hunting, I'm crazy about it!!! Having a family comes first, I'd hate to give up a person I care about for a passionate hobby...... Seems kind of pathetic to choose a pastime over a spouse, wouldn't most of you agree?

Agreed. There are a few posts on here that make me feel sorry for the wife.

If you don't have enough respect for your partner to agree, you need to either get a divorce if she is really an anchor, or grow up and learn some respect.

Excellent post. Yes enjoy those little ones as much as you can since in a wink they will be 21 and on their way.

Got here a bit late, my view is marriage is give and take. If one partner tries to change ( improve??) the other then the relationship is not a healthy one. My wife hunts big game with me and likes to go fishing but she doesn't like hunting birds yet has no problem with me going. She likes to show dogs while I'd rather have my eyes gouged out then go but of course she has my support. Of course family trumps all, I'm going to my daughters for a late thanksgiving supper today instead of pheasant hunting.
