What is the quote from Armageddon.....................
"I'd like to name her Dottie............after my wife.....................she is a vicious life sucking ##### from which there is no escape", that sums it up for some fellows.
I hope I am close on the quote.
Yes I am single, but I can hunt when I want for as long as I want, spend my money on whatever I want and also get to keep my retirement money too!!![]()
If you think that sort of "freedom" is better than a loving, lasting relationship with a really good woman and/or children that you help grow into competent, contributing adults, you are profoundly mistaken, and likely very young. There are deeply satisfying things to learn about that can be found only by becoming a lot more unselfish than that.
If you see all women as "life sucking #####es" and any sacrifices I have made for people I love as something from which I should try to "escape", I can only feel pity.
Just calling it as it as I see it in the real world.
.
I assume that, at least in the "real world" you inhabit. There are other real worlds that are not nearly so full of conflict as yours seems to be.
Just some advice from an old guy about how to be happier.
My girlfriend doesn't have an issue with me hunting. She comes with sometimes and wants to get a deer. My only issue with her is how much she gets pissed off when I buy a gun. She gives me hell and she's a girlfriend, all our finances are separate. It makes me scared to marry her because I'm afraid I'll always get hell for buying toys.
I'll also say I like to buy guns, but I'm not financially irresponsible. I have zero debt, pay all my bills, have money for a rainy day and I still catch hell. The reason is the woman is sooooo cheap herself. Has no more than a few sets of shoes, 2 pairs of jeans that she only replaces when they wear out, one inexpensive purse/bag and she never spends money on herself. I think this is a good thing because she saves like crazy and doesn't spend money frivolously, but there is too much of a good thing. I hate having the money to buy a gun that has caught my eye and having to think "I can't because she would be too pissed off."
