One of my very best friends just retired from the OPP, he drew his 229 when they were first issued out 22 years ago and handed it in when he retired in November 2015. He was on his 5th barrel and there was no finish left on the pistol but it fed flawlessly and shot where it was pointed in spite of the fact that it rattled pretty good when shaken. By his best estimation he got about 50-60,000 rounds out of a barrel before it wouldn't hold a decent group - do the math...

If he was on his fifth barrel and got 50,000 rounds out of a barrel that means he shot 250,000 rounds in 22 years? That's over 11,000 rounds per year! Just sayin.
Quite Sig P226 on sale, I am wondering how many rounds does it take to shoot out the barrel?
TT33 claims the barrel life span to be 3000 rounds? Correct me.
Or, did any one actually shoot out a pistol. I know some one did it to a ar15.
