How many rounds or arrows do you Carry into the bush while big game hunting?
When I go with a rifle i carry at least 40 rounds of center fire ammo. Sometimes up to 80. Hundreds if after small game with rimfires. But when I use my bow I only carry 3 bolts. Yes I know what it feels like to run out of arrows. A good buddy asked why I carry so much. I do it so I could signal help if needed.
However this year I'll keep extra arrows in the truck

I seldom have more than 10-15 rounds of center fire when hunting. Never in my life have I needed more than 5, and that included 3 for the signal.

How do you signal for help with arrows?

Depending on the rifle. 2 full mags (8 rounds) plus 10 more. For my 3030- I rill the tube and have 10 more. I have never needed more than 4 round on any given trip but some spare is nice to have. In case you have to spend a night or two in the bush.

I fill my gun, so 4-6 rounds depending on which one I have that day. Then my hunting jacket has loops for 12 rounds sewn into the pockets. Fill those up and I'm good to go. If I'm in the mountains and it will be a long walk, il throw a box of twenty in my pack.

That's always been more than enough.

For rifle I carry a mag (4) plus 9 on the butt stock cartridge holder, and maybe another 5 in my pocket. I'm not sure I understand why I carry that much, as a good hunt uses one shot, and a bad one about three.

I am very similar to what many others who have responded. Full rifle, so that is 4 or 5, full extra magazine, so that is 4 more, plus 5 in my backpack; so I would say about 15 rounds all together. If hunting with the muzzleloader I carry 1 in the rifle, 2 in speed loaders, and 5 more in my pack, for a total of 8 loads. WK

Carry a restricted around while hunting? And doesn't that have like a 15" barrel or something? Not really pocket sized :p

Sigh. I can assure you that if I were to carry a hand gun while hunting, I wouldn't be outing myself on line.

HAMMOND Game Getter, not Marble.

With the 9mm carbine, 10 rounds of HP for hunting, maybe 100 in case of plinking. With the .22LR, usually 200-500. A post-it note and a thumbtack makes a fine plinking target on a far tree trunk! Plus all those empty beer cans I find along trails, they have to be put against a rock face and duly executed before I bring them back. :)

One of those plastic carry thingies from inside the box, so 10. I have three in the rifle and the others for spare.

My grandfather used to go out after moose with one rifle, one knife, and three bullets. I didn't get the benefit of 4 years of daily target practice all across western Europe in my younger days like he did, so I carry ten rounds and three knives.

On one of my first successful moose hunts I realized I had started out with seven 30-06 cartridges. I thought seven must be a lucky number, so ever since, I always start out on a big game hunt, even on a multi day hunt, unless there were multi game species to hunt, with a total of seven cartridges for my rifle.
There was a little common sense to this, also. More than one cartridge in a pocket will make a rattling noise. So, one in each front pocket, no rattle, plus I couldn't forget what front pant pocket a shell was in, because there was one in each pocket! No, I couldn't stand the sight of my rifle with a "saddle" with shells in it on my rifle stock.
After I got out of my 'teen years I never fired more than two shots on a big game hunt for only one specie of big game.

Depends when and where.
Out of town on a week adventure, always bring a couple hunting rifles and two full boxes for each.
Never know when Murphy is going to rear hizz ugly tete.
Full box always, even on a day hunt.
