how many rounds?

My hunting bag has a little stash. Usually 3rnds of each 243/30-06/375r/.410/12g and some 22lr. They stay in the bag for ever.

I have gave rounds other hunters in the past. 410 and some 22lr.

I use a shell holder on the stock. 9rnds. Never had a issue

At camp I have my 50rnd boxes of reloads as well.

Totally depends on what and how I am hunting, as well as if I am hunting alone or with others.

Deer - Crossbow - 3 with broad heads, 1 with small game head
Shotgun - hunting solo I carry 5 slugs, 10 if I am party hunting

Turkey - 5 shells

Waterfowl - load up the belt with 25 and keep a box in the truck. Misses and buddies forgetting ammo means you can never have too many

Small game - with the shotgun I carry 20 shells of various shot sizes for everything from squirrel to coyote, 20 rounds if I take the .22 or 17 hmr

Coyote - 10-20 rounds of buckshot or 22-250, depending on the location I plan on hunting and if I am alone or party hunting

I really don't see the point of carrying tons of ammo or arrows in the bush. Choose your shots wisely and make them count...

Deer hunting
1 in the pipe 3 speed loads(muzzleloader)

Small game
Hand full of whatever flavour of the day

Varmits
50 rounds in the truck and the usual hand full in the pocket

Have only been concerned once when tracking a 150 inch ten pointer and left my speedloads in my coat. The one in the pipe turned out to be the anchor on that one. Thank the deer gods on that one.

When hunting with the centerfire I usually have 10 rounds or so which in my experience is plenty. I use to carry a lot more but got tired of lugging the extra weight around. I think it would depend on how remote you are and how long you are out for as well.

I carry a full loaded mag clipped to the open floor plate (HDM) on my A-bolt and a spare fully loaded mag on the dashboard by the speedo and the rest of the box of ammo in the glove box.;)

For big game it's ten rounds, either between two mags or if it's a bolt gun with the mag topped up the rest in my pocket.

For Coyotes and the like upwards of twenty.

I'll put 3 in the mag in the gun (empty chamber) Full 5 shot mag in my back pocket and usually another 5 in another pocket or in buttstock case. I don't pass on coyotes while hunting big game so it's nice to have extra. Then I usually have a partially full 50 round mtm box back at the truck so I can replenish if I have been blasting at yotes or heaven forbid have missed.

Big game;
-Detachable Magazine gun I carry 2 loaded magazines with a box of 20 in my day pack.
-Non-Detachable I carry 10 with a box in the day pack.

Bird hunting I carry a handful of shells in a pocket with a box + in the truck/boat (plus a few slugs).

If it's a remote extended hunt then I'll have a spare gun and ammo in camp -unless I get there by canoe in which case no extra gun and I'll have at least 10 rounds in every pack/bag (I divide up the gear so if I flip and only get one bag I still have an assortment of supplies to get out).

Normally however many the rifle holds in a mag and then 9 on the butt stock shell holder or 4 on a sling.

I will usually have 3 or rounds tucked away in my pack as "just in case"

Also if I think there might be grouse I put my chiappa little badger in my pack with about 16 rounds, half subsonic 22 short in case I want to take a shot but not upset deer and half CCI 22LR in case I am in a position to make a little more noise.

All depends on "where" we are going and for how long... on week long portage in moose hunts, I have a dozen and a half broadhead equipped arrows and a couple dozen spare broadheads... that is how many I can fit into my hard arrow case. The most I have actually used on any one hunt in the past 35 years is six, and that was on a deer hunt with multiple tags and equated to five deer down, don't ask about the sixth arrow... that one still burns (a clean miss at 25 yards on a monster buck). For waterfowl at least four boxes per hunter plus additional if we might get into geese... and that is for every half day hunt. On rifle hunts, I carry 20 rounds into the field each time out and have 50 identical rounds back at camp. Small game with rimfire, I bring a couple hundred on every walk and have a brick in the truck, usually CCI SV'S. We leave in a couple weeks for a ten day moose/grouse/walleye trip... will have my case of arrows and two flats of high brass #6 20 gauge & #7.5 12 gauge game loads.

Edit; I should note that while stalking or on stand actually hunting, I only have the four arrows in my quiver with me, the remainder are back at camp.

Depending on the rifle, 10 to 15 rounds.
Signal shots can be a waste of time, and i proved that a few years back, when I almost ran out firing them.
Most of the guys heard the shooting, but didn't connect it with being a signal.
Despite us having a definite agreed on method of spacing those shots.
I finally walked out and got help with the moose drag.
I carry 5 bolts for Crossbow, or 5 arrows when bow hunting.

3arrows in the quiver for deer
10-15 slugs if are doing deer drives
5 rounds if on deer stand
2-4 boxes for waterfowl
10 shot shells for rabbit or grouse
20 shells for Saturday am coyote hunts
I always have at least one extra box of whatever ammo I'm using for the game hunted at camp for just in case

depends but for big game, I would have a mag full, less the chamber, and another couple rounds, so five or six, carry a bit more if, on a longer trip over a week, say 10 or so.
use to pack a box of twenty plus the mag, but after years of climbing mountians, and carrying the full box home every time,so cut it down,
shot gun upland 25 is good,
