How Many Spare Mags Are 'Enough'?

I am still mad at those damned Germans at HK...those cretins are soaking me for 65 bucks for a pistol mag!

You might want to stay aay from the SIG P210... they're $200 /each for factory magazin...

This been said, for a reason or another I'm stuck with that concept that you need at least 10 magazines for any given firearms... Why? Beats me  but my brain will not rest untill they reach that number... Ho well.

Where are you getting Pmags for $12-$14??

I meant in the US of A. They were hitting $40-$50 each for awhile....and even more up here.

Now the price gouging is over....hopefully we will see some cheap ones up here.
Maybe the same guys that got some to sell for a qik buck can get some more and sell them for a reasonable price....like $20-$22.

Don't know why we are paying $40+ for mags up here

i have a few
5-25 rounders for the 10/22
11-5/30's for the ar15
4-5/20's for the ar15
5-10 rra mags for the ar15
14-10 rounders for the glock 17(3 are pinned 18's)
2-10 308 mags for the AICS

Also...how many of you reload .223? The fella at the gun store looked at me like I had rocks in my head for doing it.
The cheapest you'll find is around 500 dollars for 1000, and certainly not for factory loaded 77 gr matchkings. I think if you do a high volume of shooting, you would be nuts not to reload.

Are mags verboten to bring out of the USA? I'm just wondering because if one were to take a trip down to the United States, you could probably pin the mags and bring the mags back yourself and save a bunch of money, no?

NO. You can't do that.............

Too bad............ Because someone is Overstocked!!

Yeah well, it's unfortunate, but the average Pmag has to go through three or four people before getting to the Canadian end user. We will never see $12-$14 Pmags this side of the border no matter how much supply catches up with demand.

I don't understand the fascination with P-Mags. I mean how fabulous can a magazine get - really? I never had any problems with the good ol steel ones. Don't get me wrong, if I were to buy an AR mag it would be a P-Mag because I am a quality over quantity kinda guy, but using a P-Mag vs. a steel mag is really splitting hairs in my opinion.

They are tough as nails. I didn't believe it at first either but me and some friends tortured the crap out of one overseas. Drove over it with an ANP ranger, froze it with water inside (multiple times to try and weaken it), threw on top of the Hesco in the 50+ degree heat of the Afghan sun, dropped it off of buildings, fired A LOT of rounds through it in very rapid succession both with a rifle and in an LMG. Still worked. I got too carried away and tried to run it over with an RG31. That was the end of that.

Clearly you've never used a PMAG or compared one to the GI aluminum. There is no comparison, the advantages are numerous and the down sides virtually non existent. Of course this information is about 3 years old.

I prefer the H&K gen3 mags, although i love the Pmags, and especially the Emag! Actually I prefer the design of the Pmag for its esthetically pleasing appearance.

But the H&K 30 Gen 3 are just beautiful and have no problems with them either!
