Why tell him the destroy the receiver, there are some of us with 12(3) that would consider buying it
If it's registered it's all good. If not then chopping is the only legal way to go

That is not the notch for the fun part that is where you remove the charging handle

but wait ..... it's not just the receiver..... once you remove the barrel from a 12.3 M14 rifle's receiver , in the views of the rcmp, the receiver reverts back to it's original status, F/A prohibited and you must immediately have the receivers status updated..... OR.... a smart guy has a shot out m14 barrel or a take off norinco m305 barrel on hand to thread back on.... maintaining the firearms 12.3 status.Yes that is correct. The receiver is the only regulated item. The parts are not controlled.
