A quick survey of those involved in IPSC, IDPA, USPSC, Cowboy, Three Gun, Potato Gunning, Punkin' Chunkin', whatever:

What are you involved in and what sort of monetary investment have you made so far? Or what was your initial investment?
 
15,000 in firearms,..gear,.parts..etc, at least. Ammo is a whole different story.
 
i shoot IPSC , and i can say that i have spent $1300 which includes my glock,mags,mag pouches,holster and velcro belt and the black badge course.

match ammo, practice ammo not included same with match fees, i feel no need to include them because i enjoy what i do.

i tend not to put a price on the fun i have. the gun i had before IPSC ,so really should just take it out of the cost.
 
2 Ruger Vaqueros, about $1100.00
1 Uberti 1866. about $1400.00
1 SxS hammered shotgun $600.00
Then we get into CAS clothing:
Boots, $200.00
Spurs and buckles, $75.00
Hat, $100.00
Shirt, $50.00
Neckerchief, $10.00
Suspenders, $15.00
Pocket Watch and chain, $35.00
Pants, $65.00
Vest, $50.00
Holsters and gun belt, $250.00
Plus all the extras.
Then we get into tools for target shooting, National Match, migratory birds, upland birds, deer, moose and all their spares and accessories.
Let's not talk about their cost hmmmmm?


Then things grow, we get into toys for sidematches:
Derringer, 250.00
Single shot Hi-wall .45-70, $1000.00
Sharps 1874 .45-70, $1400.00
Rolling Block .45-70, $1000.00

Pffft, and they say IPSC is expensive :)
 
A few hundred on holsters and various molle pouches for the exotic magazines. That is all that has been spent specifically on Action shooting sports.

That said, well over 60k in firearms between my father and I for various 3 gun type and other fun matches, before the stach of ammo.

i hate you :d
 
put it this way,...would a few sets of golf clubs, shoes,..funny hats,cool sunglasses etc..be worth the same to me,...even if the dollar value was the same? Absolutely NOT.
