Interesting info on the Egyptian Contract Fn49s. I've shot mine extensively (~2k rounds) with a #### ton of different makes of commerial ammo - PPU, Federal, S&B and Winchester - and never had this happen. Are all Egyptian Contract Fn49s afflicted by this ? If not, any way to check ?
Oh, and with regards to the OP's query: For a rifle in good condition would suggest a valuation of ~$1k. Most of the ones I have seen offered for sale over the past few years are either beat up from use and/or rusted from improper storage. The pristine ones do fetch a much higher price as do the Luxembourg ones in 30-06.
