many many many moose taken by myself with the O'conner special..lol .270 and watched a fair amount get tipped over by 7mm rem mag, 30-06, 300 wm,.338 wm, .350 rem mag..
Most all were shot facing sideways and hit in the lungs..and took EXACTLY one minute and 29 seconds to have their lungs fill with blood and collapse..
Second shots usually just caused the moose to attempt to move off..I see no difference in all those calibers..as the ONLY moose I seen DROPPED on the spot I hit too high with a 150 grain nosler from my .270 that spined the moose and it dropped with LITERALLY its 4 feet in the air..
the largest moose I have shot was on the Teslin river and he was HUGE and old in excess of 1500 pound Alaskan giant..2 shots from the .270 and 150 Nosler handload and the moose was down....
And yes I watched a native lady harvest her moose with a 30-30 from 50 paces.. almost a minute and a half later..it too sucumbed to the effects of blood loss and dropped..
