So how is everyone going to scope theirs, that is if your not just going to use the open sights? I'm thinking a K-4 Weaver or 2-7 Leupold on mine.![]()
Have we got a final model configuration yet?guys, just a quick update; lots more orders now. i think we've got plenty now to get things going. once i hear from ruger, if they give us the go ahead, I'll get deposits. I'm very optimistic at this point, we really just need Ruger to give us the go ahead.
Have we got a final model configuration yet?
What's the time line Ruger gives on this sort of thing? I'd like to have it by Christmas.
.
No configuration yet-not because I don't have an idea yet which would sell best; its because I want to hear from Ruger first; ie, prices, technical suggstions, etc.
Perhaps one thing to be specific on regardless of final model choice would exactly what twist the barrels will be made in as I'm certain that would be an important concern to many of us, especially if a long heavy bullet is to be used as well as lighter ones....
Some day I will buy a Ruger #1 but I have no interest in a Canadian limited edition example, if they even consented to manufacture one.

I would also prefer the Medium sporter with the 26" barrel and open sights.
And some sort of inscription to designate it as a Canadian or Commonwealth commemorative.

good. we dont want you to have one![]()
If the configuration is as above I'm definately in, not really interested in a shorter bbl.

Forgive my ignorance here. I love the idea of a .303 brit canadian rifle in limited production, with special canadian serial # hitting the market. I would love a nice compact, iron sighted, basic rifle in a single shot. BUT what makes this worth $1,200? Seems like a hell of a lot of dough to me.
Even a plain ole Remington or Winchester is going to cost clost to $1K and there are plenty factory rifles out there for more..Forgive my ignorance here. No maybe about it, you ARE wrong!Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see anything to tempt me more to buy a Ruger #1 if there was to be a limited edition Canadian example.
