IF i was to do another one , I would not sell it for less then $4,000-$5,500
The one for $11,000 for the one on ####### I think is WAY out of line for the price.
It looks like my work kinda...i would normally use the 1896-1897 frames.
But at the same time i dont remeber doing ANY that had a frame that pitted up.
But.. Who knows.. I Lost ALL my Records and pic's from back then other then whats on youtube.
I would sell them all with Email Records from the RCMP showing the approved modification.
Back 10 years ago i beleave i was getting $3500-4500 Each when done.
Seems like the non Antique ones are $750-1500 Cad right now.
The problem right now... is finding and Antique 41 Colt... Seems like they are going for $3,000-4,000 Right now..
And i bet still 95% of them will need work even IF the buyer tells you it's good... ...
The good thing is , Even if they are a "little loose" they are normaly pretty safe to shoot.
then looking for a little newer model for the cylinder I use to buy 38 cylinders or 32-20 from 1903-1907
Normally the cylinder was $100-250 Each. i also did a good amount of cylinder sleeves in pre 1897 41 cylinders.
The Barrels i would find from $75-300 Each depending on the size & shape
I use to buy them local from a gunsmith , who had a LOT of them
As he was rebarrling most of the guns to longer leanth so they did not need to be prohibited so had LOTS of stock.
The engraving was normally $20-50.00 only Local company who did trophies i would bring "just the barrel too"
the problem is... 95% of the colt 1892's Needed a GOOD amount of work.
I brought TONS (30LBS) of NOS parts from uruguay 10+ years ago , so was pretty simple to fit parts to them.
But did take a good amount of time.. I was Changing EVERYHING inside the gun to new.
Barrels are Very Easy to Swap and Fit, I did maybe 5 myself (making my own barrel and frame vice bocks)
And a $600.00 mini metal lathe
after working with the gunsmith who showed me everything.
Hardest part was the sight lineup LOL!
Really
I Recomend... Just Buy a 41 & reload for 41 Colt , or a few places in canada who will sell reloaded 41 colt.
41 Colt is a pretty gun Cal to shoot.
Back in the day the parts i use to keep instock. Well this is when i was selling off the last of everything. (i dont have anymore parts)
In the last Few Years i started to get back into antiques again.. After pretty much being out of it for 10 years.
Slowly building a shop that i can play with working on them again.
but only really playing with reichsrevolver M83 right now (I have "just a few of them" LOL)
they are the The Ugly guns no one really wants , and they like 44 russian Ammo, and cheap still (normally under $2500 In good shape)
Working with a local Person to do a Run of reproduction parts for them.. But... Kinda looking like it will be too much $$$
And problems is... So Many diffreent fiment issues on them seeing they where made in many places...
Kinda making some "Call of Duty Models" for fun LOL..
