How much is your AR-15 worth?

The realities of passing new legislation such as they are proposing are going to be challenged at every step. I’d give it a couple years before we even get close to seeing this happen. Think how long it took to bring C-71 into law?

But if and when it does they’ll get a stripped lower from me.

More like Alberta will be kicking everything east of Manitoba out of Canada.

I believe the ones paying the mortgage own the house.

Not in a divorce.

They won't buy anything back, they'll just make them prohibited and take them. Honestly, what can you actually do if there are RCMP standing on your front doorstep demanding you turn over the firearms they have on their list?
When they come for what is registered I hope to get some compensation but I doubt very much that they will offer anything other than you get to stay out of jail if you cooperate.

Lots of funny comments so far, as if anyone in Canada is going to fight back using their firearms, most of you can't even say no to your wife or buy a gun without her permission, but ya, you're going to start shooting at the cops if they come to take your guns, you'd be killed very quickly and they'll still take your guns, plus you'll be giving them more ammunition to use to take away everything else.

Also, if your rifle is registered as a complete rifle and you try to hand back a stripped lower they will get a warrant to search your residence for the rest of the parts and then find everything else you're trying to hide then charge you with obstruction as well as whatever firearms charges they can come up with. You don't have to believe me, you'll see.

If that piece of crap gets voted in again we're screwed.
Too many Canadians are stupid and brainwashed, they think that CBC news is real even though the government gives them billions in funding to keep the news left wing friendly. I was talking to a woman in the lineup at the post office who thought Turd was doing a great job, she had never heard of any of the scandals or behavior that I mentioned when asking her how she can support someone who pays off terrorists, and interferes in investigations to protect his friends so they all stay rich while screwing over the rest of the country.

I owned an original Type 97 which was going to be confiscated without compensation. I did get a court date for a hearing but then the decision was made to compensate. They paid the full retail price (I had the receipt). I kept the sling, cleaning kit, extra mags, scope etc. but what use are they if you don't have the firearm to put them on? The cop who turned up at my house was rather embarassed and agreed the whole thing was stupid. The funny thing was that a little later I was able to buy another version 2 Type 97 for less money. So I did actually make money on the deal kind of

It will be interesting to see what is considered to be a military style assault rifle and if we get to keep main battle rifles such as M1 Garand

Stripped lower probably in $200 range or more if I can get away with it lol
I dont know if there is a difference in how they are registered, should be able to strip it down as its the only part thats classified as restricted. I am sure there are 3D print templates out there for lowers :)

Everyone with a built AR should be calling the RCMP on monday to inform them of a classification change to convert the registration to "receiver only" so that they can mail you a new registration certificate.

Just keep the upper off at all times unless you're at the range using it. The RCMP is only concerned about permanent changes. No different than having 2 or 3 uppers for one lower.
