How much love is out there for the Savage 99?

I love the little 250 Savage...my wife and I each have a Ruger so chambered...
I have been looking for a nice 99 with the rotary magazine for several years, but have not found the one that says "take me home" yet...would be nice to have a third 250 so my daughter has one to carry when we go hunting.
Saw a nicer carbine at a local gunshow recently, but did not have his asking price at that moment.
Always thought a 358 would be great, as would the 375 Win! Just have never seen one of either.

I had one of the later models for a time. Rotary mag, but no counter, beech stock. It worked well, but it's accuracy did not live up to it's hype unless downloaded about 5 to 10%. It was in 308Win.
Despite that, it's a rifle I would have kept, had it been one of the older pre-1960's versions. Very nice rifle to hunt with.

I only 'discovered' the savage 99/1899 about a year ago, and since have developed a real appreciation for them. I've ended up with 3 so far, a 1926 .303, a 1914 .22HP, and a 1909 .303. I find the build quality to be very high, and the accuracy of the two .303's almost defies belief. I can pretty much count on the 1909 to put 5 (150's or 170's) into 1.5", and sometimes an 1"!! I can't even believe I can shoot open sights that well but it does it every time. It often outshoots my scoped bolt rifles. The long sight radius and the fine sights help I am sure but still. What the hell. So the old girl got picked to fill the freezer this fall.

Love the 99. I even have them in the Winchester calibers (38-55, 32-40 and 25-35), 358, 375 Win and a couple more.

Couple model 1895's, the 1899 predecessor made at the Marlin factory, the top one is a nickel plated 30" octagon special order.
