How much would you pay for a VZ. 58 in 7.62x51?

7.62x51 or... 300BLK?
I voted for <$800... but reconsidering it, if I could hunt with it and put my ace folder on it I would be ok with paying up to probably $1000. Still, I need a better optics mounting solution... While I'm day dreaming it needs a full rail to easily mount conventional optics, like a flat top AR.
On the other hand, if it was made available in 300 blackout (and built from factory to take AR mags) I would hesitate much less.

There's a .22 conversion kit already, someone is going to be importing them to Canada, can't remember who though ha ha. Check out the demo video on youtube - pretty cool.
I think the russian-style side mount for optics is probably the best bet for the new VZ. There are AR flat top mounts for the AK that apparently work pretty well but 'if it ain't broke' eh?
I voted 1200, but now I'm thinking realistically I would only want to pay 1000 for a 762x51. But lets face it, these would be a big buyer for the black rifle hunting market. WAY cheaper than an XCR or RFB, and you have the 7.62x51 stopping power.
If it comes to canada, I'd be confident in saying I will buy one within a year providing its not incredibly hard to find/riddled with problems/over 1200 after taxes.

If I could have it in my hands for $1000 I'd have one. I'm certainly not desperate enough to pay 1500+ for it though. I do like the idea of a 7.62x51 that's so much lighter than an M14.
For recoil, it's not really a consideration for a bush gun IMHO. For range work, a recoil stock or even just a thick jacket etc should be enough for a 7.62x51. If you're extremely recoil sensitive you could always add weight to the buttstock, that should dampen some of the punch and it would be removable if you wanted to carry it a long way on a hunt etc.

I believe they are selling a rifle with a .22LR kit on it already. I seen it on the website, unless somebody purchased it.

Wolverine is still trying to sell off the conversion kits at a loss. Was $610 now $399. This is from their website:
"These conversion kits are proving to be a headache to us. I believe they will work well but in most cases they do require some minor gunsmithing to fit and function reliably. They are also sensitive to ammo, need to be kept clean (including the magazine) and well lubricated.
Due also to the high cost and small demand we have decided to discontinue stocking these conversion kits. We are going to sell them off below our cost on a one time basis, these are sold "AS IS" no warranty, However spare parts will be available for as long as the manufacture can supply."
