How Much?

3 pistols in the last month. 1000 factory 45 and a grand to henry. try and keep it on the down low to the little lady. but in the end if its your money they cant say anything. just dont blow the power bill money!
 
Here's a tip...Buy your wife a nice big rock.Then everytime she complaine's about what you are spending on firearm's,you can refer back to the cost of the rock...lol..
 
Jeez - This thread is making me feel a whole lot better. A full year hasn't gone by yet and I'm $5-6K into it. I'm working real hard avoiding the gun shop for a couple of weeks at a time but reading this forum just starts giving me all sorts of new ideas along with reading about guns that I absolutely have to get .... real soon.
 
The sport is sure sinking in, at first when pal came in in june, i ''just wanted'' 1 rifle and 1 handgun. 4 months later it's more like 2 handguns, 3 rifles and a shotgun... and now eyeballin an AR15. When will it stop!?
Anyways it's the ammo that's costly much more than the firearms. Every firearm i own has cost more in ammo than the firearm itself, exept for the scopped ruger 10/22, that one has got a way to go lol.
 
I'd say my family has spent about $8000 on guns and gun related stuff in the past five years (my Garand, R700, and Nightforce scope were gifts from my parents, pretty much everything else I've paid for). I rarely get out to shoot though, usually once a month.
 
When I started out I'd say that's about right or perhaps I spent a little more. But I was in the "aquiring" stage for the first couple of years. Now I've got a pretty decent cross section of the guns I enjoy and will even be selling a few that are just not my cup o' tea soon. Now it's simply about feeding the beasts.... which fortunetly isn't quite as pricey.... especially since I quite enjoy some quality .22 time so that helps a lot with the actual cost of shooting.

So cheer up, once you spend big for a little longer you can begin to "coast".... :D
 
I spend on average about $500 a month.
My wife and I have an agreement. She gets an equivalent amount to spend on her hobbies. So far I have failed to make her interested in the sport when I do I will end up owning pink firearms. I think that is the only way to make her interested lol
