PS, I have seen the damage done to a .22 barrel with overcleaning... it is not pretty. The grooves are too fine (and fragile compared to centerfire) to take much scrubbing.
I haven't seen many .22 barrels worn out from shooting, but I have seen my fair share worn out from excessive cleaning.
As all my guns, I clean my m&p 22 every outing with brush and oil. No solvents yet but accuracy will dictate that.
