How Often Do You Clean Your Black Rifle?

Almost never.
I just keep it well oiled. I have owned AR's, AR180's and now XCR-L.
Shoot the hell out of them, keep them oiled after shooting.
Once every couple of months (maybe every 5 or 6) I clean them with a standard M16 Army cleaning kit and good old CLP lol
Good enough.

I've only cleaned my AR's every 2000-2500 rds when I was shooting Norinco. So no.

And by cleaning I mean I'll take a blue shop towel, wipe off the carbon on the BCG/bolt and upper receiver (it will wipe right off if you use enough lube), and then relube. I don't use any solvents/chemicals on AR's. I've actually never cleaned an AR barrel, ever. Buildup is self-limiting in a chrome-lined barrel.

IT wasn't a thread. It happened right in front of me! PE and our mutual friend shoot together. My friend who is also on here was trying to prove a point that guns can handle all kinds of dirt and still work esp. Glocks. We were the only ones there so he threw his empty gun into a mud puddle and stomped on it. I, being a clean freak, naturally freeeked and went looking for a towel. My friend laughed and said it would be fine. He was wrong. He forgot he had a competition Ghost trigger set up in his G17 Gen4 and the gun completely jammed up. Took repeated rinsing and blowing to get the gun unstuck. I got the last laugh.
 
Usually 300-400 rounds a month through my black rifle. I usually lube it up after every range visit, and let it sit over night, then run my bore snake through it in the morning. I do a field strip/clean every other month.
 
I like cleaning my AR's and pistols so they are cleaned after every range trip.
If I'm doing a clinic I don't clean till the clinic is over and I'm back home.

My precision rifles on the other hand can go 300 rounds before they get a cleaning when the groups start opening up.
 
havent fully stripped my tavor since I got her 2 years ago. When Im not testing ammo, I just do a quick field strip every 1200 rounds
 
Over cleaning your rifle is much more likely to damage it then letting it sit dirty. I give my ar15 a very modest cleaning every 1-2000 rounds, and with that I only clean the BCG and run a patch or a boresnake through the barrel once or twice.

These guys ran 20,000 rounds through a KAC ar15 without cleaning it once, and it still functions perfectly:
