The Surete du Quebec is so power hungry that they will say just about anything to impose their will.
I work for an Armored Truck Co that will soon be switching from revolvers to pistols. During a discussion with the woman in charge of La Direction des Permis (a civilian, not even a cop anymore), we were told that there would be no exemption for us regarding magazine capacity. I don't have a problem with that, the law is the law and we are not cops, we are a private company.
Where I have a problem is that we were told that the maximum capacity of a pistol is 10 rounds. Not 10 rounds in the mag +1 in the pipe but 10 rounds in total. Can you beleive this s**t!!?
Last time I checked the FEDERAL law stated that the magazine capacity is 10 rounds. There is no mention of anything else, it's obvious that a chambered round is not part of a magazine. So 1 in the pipe is OK.
Some of you may think "What's the difference? If you can't do the job with 10 rounds, an extra one won't do much of a difference, you are in deep s**t my friend and what you need is a rifle".
Well, I agree! For me it's a question of principle. Who do they think they are? They are not the ones who made the law.
Are they that power hungry that they will say anything to impose their will, or are they just plain stupid?
I swear, the SQ will only be happy when they take all guns away from the civilians. And when that is done, they will probably do their best to take the guns away from the Canadian Armed Forces based in Quebec.
